Climbing Sajama

Sajama 6542m (4 days)

The Sajama is with 6542 meters more high summit in Bolivia. Since it is a volcano, its ascent from the technical point of view is not very difficult, but it constitutes a long journey in the height.

Day 1.- Salimos de La Paz para el pueblo de Sajama (alrededor de 4 horas de La Paz). A continuación siguen Wincurata donde comenzaremos nuestra caminata de 3 horas a campo base (4.800 m).

Day 2.- Trek from base camp to the high camp, at 5,700m. This trek takes around 5 hours.

Day 3.- The ascent to the Sajama is very long. It is necessary to spend 14 hours in the ascent and the descent to the base camp where we spend the night.

Day 4.- Trek from base camp to Wincurata where we will have the chance to enjoy the gorgeous thermal baths, before returning to La Paz.
