Climbing Huayna Potosí (2 days)

Huayna Potosí (6.088 m)

The Huayna Potosí is the most climbed mountain of 6,000 meters in the region of the Cordillera Real. This is due to its easy access and non-technical characteristics. The normal route is the preferred option for most climbers, who take on this challenge.

This program is recommended for people with experience and at the same time have a good acclimatization.

Itinerary:

Day 1.- Departure by car to the base camp where we started our ascent to «Campo Alto», located at 5,135 meters.

Hiking time for 2-3 hours moraine.

Day 2.- Before breakfast we start our ascent to the top of Huayna Potosí (6080 meters), after about six hours of ascent to reach its summit. Once at the top, we can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Andes Mountains and the sun rising to the east. Then we will begin our descent back to the base camp and then to Laguna Zongo, where our vehicle will be waiting for us to return to La Paz.
