This is a new route between the border of Peru (30%) and Bolivia (70%). It is a beautiful trekking route through lagoons of different colors and especially the wonderful landscapes of snow-capped mountains.

Itinerary:

Day 1.- Early departure from La Paz to the town of Katantica (3,700 m). The trip takes us beyond the little visited side of Lake Titicaca and near the border with Peru. It’s a long day with the trip averaging 10 hours.

Day 2.- We begin our trip towards the Huancuchi pass (5.300m), where we see a great part of the mountain of this mountain range. We descend to the top of the lagoon where we locate our Suches camp.

Day 3.- We advance through the Laguna Suches, then we enter a small valley where we find several lagoons, arriving at the Laguna de la Chariacola Final, located in the Blue Lagoon. (Peruvian side.) Where we set up our camp.

Day 4.- This day we enter a small canyon, continuing along the river that descends from the mountain. We arrived at the beautiful Saluypata lagoon. After a rest we continue ascending and skirting the glacier, we cross the pass (5.250 m) and we establish our camp on the shores of the Icerberg Lagoon, the landscape is wonderful and the Orc Chauipo mountain range.

Day 5.- We cross the base of the Palomanis mountains, descend the Orco Chaupi river, continue to the Chocullo lagoon, finally we reach the area known as Caballunani where we set up our camp.

Day 6.- At Caballunani we will return to our starting point of the trek.

Day 7.- Return to La Paz.
