Condoriri – Chacapampa

Condoriri – Chacapampa (3 days)

The Condoriri National Park displays a great natural potential. Beautifully preserved, it is tucked away in the mountains dotted with crystal clear mountain lakes, a product of the constant thawing of glaciers. This trek is especially interesting because it ascends completely solitary mountains.

Day 1.- La Paz – Tuni Condoriri – Laguna Chiar Khota.
Departure from La Paz at 8 a.m. in our private vehicle for the village of Tuni, starting point of our trek (3h trip). The trek commences at a height of 4.300m, from where we hike progressively to an altitude of 4.600m, until we reach our first camp, on the shores of the beautiful Chiara-Khota lagoon.

Day 2.- Laguna Chiar Khota – Laguna Liviñosa.
An early wakeup call is well worth it, as we observe the beautiful Andean sun, rise over the snow covered mountains. Today we will trek over two mountain passes, observe part of the majestic Huayna Potosi Mt (6088m) and then start our descent, until the Liviñosa lake, at an altitude of 4200m, where we will set up camp.

Day 3.- Laguna Liviñosa – Chacapampa – La Paz.
On day three we will experience the transition in ecosystems as we descend slowly down to the village of Botijlaca at 3700m. Our vehicle will be waiting for us there to drive us back to La Paz. On the way back we will pass by the base camp of Mt. Huayna Potosi (4,750m) as well as lakes with very vibrant colors.
