Condoriri
Chiar Khota Lagoon is located in the Condoriri area.

COPACABANA - TREK KHOTIA - PEQUEÑO ALPAMAYO - HUAYNA POTOSI - ACOTANGO - SAJAMA

Itinerary:

Day 1.- ARRIVAL IN LA PAZ.

Day 2.- LA PAZ –TIWANAKU – RETURN TO LA PAZ.

The most important archaeological place in the country, due to their extension and magnificence. Tiwanaku, formerly called Taypikala that in language Aymara, it means: Central Stone.

Day 3.- LA PAZ – LAKE TITICACA – COPACABANA.

Day 4.- SUN ISLAND – COPACABANA – KHOTIA.

Visit the island of the sun (Titicaca Lake) – Return to Copacabana and continue by car to Lake Khotia.

Day 5.- KHOTIA LAGOON – AJUANI LAGOON.

Khotia Lagoon (4,570 m). We slowly begin the walk towards the Andean foothills. When we reach the first pass we begin to descend and in the valley we can see the three large lakes. After crossing the river we ascend until we reach the Ajuani lagoon.

Day 6.- AJUANI LAGOON – JURI KHOTA LAGOON.

The path is winding but attractive. After crossing the first pass, we descend until we reach the Jistaña lagoon, where we take a break for lunch.  At this point, the path begins to ascend towards the peak that represents our second pass, and in the valley, we see the beautiful and isolated Juri Quta lagoon, surrounded by snow-capped mountains.

Day 7.- JURI KHOTA LAGOON – GLACIER LAGOON – AUSTRIA PASS – CHIAR KHOTA.

From Laguna Juri Quta, we begin a steep climb until we reach Laguna Glaciar, a jewel nestled at 4,900 meters above sea level at the foot of the Condoriri glacier. From there, we continue the climb to Paso Austria, 5,140 m. It is recommended to climb Pico Austria (5,350 m), since its summit offers an excellent viewpoint of the entire mountain range. After a photo session, we descend to Laguna Chiar Quta (4,630 m), where we will set up camp.

Day 8.- CHIAR KHOTA – PICO AUSTRIA – PEQUEÑO ALPAMAYO.

We start our journey very early going up first to Pico Tarija (5,300 m), then we continue to Little Alpamayo (5,425 m.) Beautiful Mountain; our return to the base camp is by the same route.

Is a long day.

Day 9.- CHIAR QUTA – JISTAÑA – MARIA LLOCO.

Today’s passage is the Jistaña pass, with an altitude of 4,900 m, which leads to the valley of the Racacha valley. We continue through the valley until we reach a small ranch where we set up our camp. At the bottom of the valley we can see the mountains of María Lloco and the west face of Huayna Potosí.

Day 10.- MILLUNI PASS – HUAYNA POTOSI.

Our last step is the Huallatani Pass (4,850m). From here, on a clear day, we can enjoy the impressive views of the Maria Lloco Mountains and the imposing Huayna Potosí, and we arrive at base camp.

After lunch, we climb to high camp (5130m).

Day 11.- HIGH CAMP – HUAYNA POTOSI SUMMIT – RETURN TO LA PAZ.

This day we will start very early to reach the summit (6,088 m). From the top of the peak we can enjoy views of the altiplano, La Paz, the valleys that enter the jungle, Lake Titicaca and the entire Cordillera Real. Then we will begin our descent back to the high camp and then to base camp where our vehicle will be waiting for us to return to La Paz.

Day 12.- REST.

Day 13.- LA PAZ – SAJAMA.

Departure from La Paz to the village of Sajama in vehicle. We spend the night in a shelter.

Day 14.- SAJAMA – ACOTANGO VOLCANO.

From the town of Sajama, we head to Chachacacomani, a small village near the base of Acotango. We immediately begin our ascent via the mining route «Quebrada del Cóndor Jipiña» (4,800 m), reaching 5,400 meters by vehicle.

The ascent to the summit of Acotango takes approximately 4 to 5 hours. On the way back, we head to the town of Tambo Quemado, refuel, and take advantage of a lunch break before embarking on the return journey to the city of La Paz.

Day 15.- SAJAMA – BASE CAMP.

We depart from the town at 10 am, first we head to the place known as Wincurata and continue through the valley until we reach the Sajama Base Camp (4,820 m.), this journey takes 3 hours.

Day 16.- BASE CAMP – SAJAMA HIGH CAMP (5.750 m.).

At around 9 am, we will start our ascent to the high camp, which takes approximately 5 hours. The carriers will assist us in transporting all the technical equipment we need for the climb.

Day 17.- HIGH CAMP – SAJAMA SUMMIT (6,542 m) – RETURN TO BASE CAMP.

We started the ascent at 2:00 am, with a first stretch with a steep slope and mixed traverse, then the terrain maintains a slope of about 50 degrees until the final stretch. The summit of Sajama (6,542 m) is a huge plateau. We returned by the same path to the high camp and then continued to the base camp.

Day 18.- BASE CAMPO – WINCURATA – RETURN TO LA PAZ.

At 9:00 am, we start the descent to Wincurata where the vehicle is waiting for us. First we will take a bath in the hot springs and then return to the city of La Paz.

Day 19.- HOTEL – AIRPORT TRANSFER
